Assistant City ManagerCity of Santa RosaDaryel Dunston, Sr., is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Santa Rosa, overseeing the city's Information Technology Department, Planning and Economic Development Department, Housing and Community Services Department, and the City Clerk's office. Notably, he leads the team that is researching how to leverage Artificial Intelligence to assess and deliver government programs and services more efficiently.
Daryel’s vast professional experiences, spanning nearly 20 years, are rooted in public service. Prior to his current appointment, Daryel served as a senior director with the San Francisco Foundation, and before that, he served in various roles with the City of Oakland, culminating in an appointment as a deputy administrator in Oakland's City Administrator's Office. Before relocating to the Bay Area from Washington, DC, Daryel served as a sworn fire official and contributing writer with the Huffington Post. Daryel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, and he earned an MPA from UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy. |
