Principal Scientist in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, HUPH Honored Professor Dr. Cuong Do is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in research and development of innovative AI/ML solutions. He leads the company’s AI Research group, driving R&D in Generative AI across deep research, multi-agent systems, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), graph-based architectures, and search. Dr. Cuong Do started serving as the AI advisor in the Advisory Board at the University of San Francisco in June 2024. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut in Data Science and AI since 2012, teaching subjects such as Machine Learning, Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Data Structures & Algorithms, Financial Modeling, Statistics, and Signal Processing in the Financial Mathematics and Actuarial MS programs, Financial Risk MS program, Business Analytics and Project Management programs, Electrical & Computer Engineering program across all modes of instruction including in-person, online, and distant learning. He played the key role in founding the MS in Data Science program, and the Individualized Major in Data Science at the university. On the research side, his research across the domain is in applied AI in business, healthcare, finance, insurance, software engineering, and law. He heads the Data Science lab and advises a large community of Data Science oriented students and young professionals (~400). He received the HUPH Honored Professorship in 2021 for his research in applied AI in healthcare. Previously Dr. Cuong Do was recognized by the US Government as a National Exceptional Ability Researcher in 2011. Additionally, he is experienced in launching successful initiatives in both industry and academia, and actively involved in various activities for the Data Science & AI communities. |
